Due to preparation time, a very limited number of the following will be available:​

Crowns
Partial Dentures (“Flippers”)
Full Dentures (see details below)

Important Denture Information

  • Only a very limited number of dentures will be provided due to the extensive preparation time required.
  • Patients must begin the denture process early on Friday; dentures will be completed on Saturday.
  • To be eligible, patients must have had all teeth removed at least 8 weeks prior to the clinic and be completely healed.
  • At the clinic, a dentist will examine the patient’s mouth to determine if they are a candidate for the denture process used at COMOM.

  • Patients are encouraged to attend the pre-evaluation on Thursday, October 16, from 4–7 p.m.

Dental Treatments NOT Provided

Extraction of wisdom teeth
Root canal treatment of molars
Dental implants
Extractions for patients who are taking:
Blood thinner medications Osteoporosis medications

Thursday Early Evaluations

Date: Thursday, October 16 Time: 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. (or until clinic reaches capacity) No appointments. First come, first served.

Who Should Come?​

  • Patients wanting dentures (to confirm eligibility)
  • Patients with complicated dental situations needing extra guidance
  • Anyone who wants to save time and start the process early

What is Early Evaluation?

Early Evaluation is an opportunity to be seen by a dentist before the clinic officially begins. During this visit, the dentist will perform an assessment and create a treatment plan for you.

How does it help you

  • You will return on Friday or Saturday for your planned treatment.
  • Since you already have a treatment plan, you will be able to begin treatment more quickly on the clinic day you are assigned.

Friday and Saturday – When to Come?

  • Early! Can line-up night before clinic
  • Warm inside shelter
  • Clinic doors open at 6:00 am
  • Doors remain open until clinic is full
  • Clinic becomes full early in day
  • No appointments
  • First come — first served

What to Bring?

  • Medication list
  • Books, magazines, puzzles… to help pass the time
  • Snacks and water

What to Expect?

  • Optional: Thursday, doors will open at 4:00 pm to enable you to be seen by a dentist – before the clinic – to identify your dental treatment plan. (You will then return on either Friday or Saturday for treatment.)
  • Friday and Saturday, doors open at 6 am and will remain open until the clinic is full.
  • Clinic becomes full early in the day.

  • A dentist will help you decide your most important dental needs.
  • You will first receive treatment for your primary need.
  • If dentists and dental hygienists are available, you may be able to receive treatment for another dental need.

  • Dental treatment will be provided on a first-come, first served basis.
  • You will be treated when it’s your turn, and the wait may be long.
  • As dentists and dental hygienists become available, you will be taken to clinic area for treatment.

  • During the dental clinic, you will be shown how to care for your teeth.
  • You will be asked to participate in an exit interview about your experience.

Patients With Diabetes or High Blood Pressure

  • Blood pressure testing will be performed on all patients, and blood glucose testing will be performed on patients who have a history of diabetes.
  • Patients with blood pressure or glucose levels that are too high cannot be treated at COMOM.

Children and Infants

  • Children and infants are welcomed at COMOM to receive dental care.
  • If parent/guardian is to receive treatment, an adult must be present to be responsible for the
    children brought to the clinic.
